About Cookies

Swedish Act on Electronic Information

In Sweden a new law on electronic communications was introduced on 25 July 2003. A portion of this law manages the use of cookies on websites. The law stipulates that a website must talk about their use of cookies and how they are used.

What is a cookie?

A cookie or kaka in Swedish, is a small text file that a website asks to store on your computer and which contains a certain amount of information and a certain time stamp.

The browser saves the information in a special place on your computer and returns the information in the cookie to the website you visited with any enquiry by pages/images from the website.

Cookies on this site are used to improve the user experience and optimisation of the site. There are two types of cookies:

One type, called a permanent cookie, saves a file that remains on your computer. It is used for example to adapt a website visitor’s preferences, choices and interests, as well as for statistical monitoring.

The second type is called a session cookie. While a visitor is on a website, it is stored temporarily in your computer’s memory. Session cookies disappear when you close your browser.

Our website uses both session cookies and permanent cookies. Regardless of what type of cookies are used on this site, no personal information is stored about the visitor (such as e-mail address or name).

Handling of cookies

If you do not accept the use of cookies, you can disable cookies in your browser’s security settings. You can also set your browser so that you receive an alert every time a website tries to put a cookie on your computer. The browser can also delete previously stored cookies.

See your browser’s help pages for more information on how you can view the cookies stored in your browser, how to remove them and adjust settings for whether cookies will be accepted or not. Below are links on how to handle cookies in common browsers.
